My Sonic Lab Ultra Eminent EX
Sail Through Complex Musical Passages without Losing Focus: Japanese-Built My Sonic Lab Ultra Eminent EX MC Phono Cartridge Offers Precise Soundstage combined with Uncanny Naturalism
Enhanced with low internal impedance, an Extra Super Duralumin A7075 alloy body, semi-line contact stylus, and a lightweight, rigid, lightning-fast boron cantilever, the Japanese-made My Sonic Lab Ultra Eminent EX MC phono cartridge laughs at the challenging, complex passages that derail most of the world's cartridges – and suspend your sense of musical focus and presence. An unforgettable throughway to precise, pinpoint-specific soundstages, the Stereophile Class A Recommended Ultra Eminent EX will bring you face-to-face with your favorite artists. Such is the degree of transparency, naturalism, and accuracy it delivers every time you spin a vinyl record.
“The Ultra Eminent Ex excavated so much microlevel information that it seemed to reach some perpetual limit where recorded detail is no longer perceived as ‘detail’ per se, but instead begins to materialize into the person, instrument, or environment the information represents.”

Four Decades of Cartridge-Building Expertise: My Sonic Lab
My Sonic Lab cartridges are the labors of master cartridge designer Yoshio Matsudaira seeking natural reproduction by minimizing signal loss, internal distortion, and phase distortion. All of the company's cartridges utilize Matsudaira's unique SH-μX magnetic core, a special material with higher permeability and flux density than the typical iron core material used in MC cartridges. It also allows My Sonic Lab to use fewer coil windings than other MC cartridges, minimizing music-robbing distortions and maximizing signal output. The high-efficiency approach translates into wide dynamic range, fast transient response, low distortion, and a high signal-to-noise ratio.
